A Blessing for Equilibrium

A Blessing for Equilibrium

Like the joy of the sea coming home to shore,
May the music of laughter break through your soul.

As the wind wants to make everything dance,
May your gravity be lightened by grace.

Like the freedom of the monastery bell,
May clarity of mind make your eyes smile.

As water takes whatever shape it is in,
So free may you be about who you become.

As silence smiles on the other side of what’s said,
May a sense of irony give you perspective.

As time remains free of all that it frames,
May fear or worry never put you in chains.

May your prayer of listening deepen enough
To hear in the distance the laughter of God.

  1. Oh, this is a wonder filled blessing for sure. Wasn’t sure I liked this man but I’ve finally started reading the Anam Cara and somehow this is the time for me shift and change many things in my life. This blessing and the book I’m working my way through is creating awesome blessings….as usual, all of a sudden. And, of course, today is the last day of the Celtic year and tomorrow we begin again.
Happy Halloween and Happy New Year……on my, the veil is sure transparent today…..

  2. Glad you enjoyed the poetry, Harolyn. I’ve just ordered a book of blessings by John O’Donohue, which I’m really looking forward to reading. Gotta be patient though as it takes a fortnight for post to get to North Cyprus.
