Flying High

Still on the Standing Stones of Callenish, this image relates to the energies of Earth, Fire, Air and Water. I find I’m adding water more to artwork these days, in recognition of climate change and the rising power of the water element in Mother Nature.

Again I’m indebted to Dina, for her kind permission to use the images of the Standing Stones of Callenish in photos she took during a visit to the Orkneys. Her blog and messages from the wonderful Bookfayries can be found at: The World According to Dina.

Joy to the World

Another return to the Standing Stones of Callenish, and a photo taken by Dina, whose blog is: The World According to Dina

On this occasion, I worked on a background of hearts and then superimposed a photo of the standing stones. It seemed to me to remind us that, while we so often see stones as solid and impervious, in essence they are the Earth Elders with unlimited abilities. They are able to absorb the energies of joy, happiness and regeneration and release those energies on the ley lines of the Earth to infuse humans with positive vibrations to help cope with the challenges of daily life. The black spaces above and below the central image represent timelessness and the unknowable.

And if you’re wondering where I’m getting these ideas from, it’s as if the dream I had, I Am Memory, has unlocked an intuitive understanding of stone energies which lurked before but which now seem to be unlocked and flowing through me.

Save

Stairway to Heaven

Yes, I know it’s the most obvious song but it suits this image so well: it’s a pathway on Machu Picchu in Peru, leading to the clouds, the spirits of this magnificent creation and memories of stone energies alive and thriving over the centuries.

Canyons of Courage: Stone Guardians of Urban Life.

I’ve got a photo of rocks on Langi Beach, WA, but which I’m unable to trace to any particular spot, certainly  not in Western Australia, as far as I can ascertain. Nevertheless, the rock formations are stunning, as if earth energies frozen in time are listening to prayers for grace led by one particularly large stone.

So I’ve worked on the image of these stone formations with Toolwiz, then superimposed them on an urban landscape to reflect the concept of stones standing as guardians for earth energy in cities and built-up areas around the world.

The concept is indivisibility between urban and rural landscapes, however separate they may seem to be at first glance. All energies are interwoven and particular rock formations act as channels of earth energy and as guardians of urban life.

Time Lords of Callenish

A few posts back I posted an image I created from a photo of the Stones of Callenish on the Orkney Islands in north Scotland by The World According to Dina.

The photos Dina took are awesome and so sensitive to the energies of the stone circle, the best I’ve seen of this amazing creation.

The image above is created from another photo of the Stones of Callenish which Dina took, and this time I was reminded of their power and energy as Time Lords – they look for all the world like beings of stone holding the circle to stabilise energy currents flowing throughout this planet.

Creating the Future

I’ve been awhile posting as we’ve had a very difficult situation with a huge hotel construction site opening up beside our apartment, noise of trucks going past night and day, and huge swags of dust coating our home. It’s been extremely stressful, exacerbated my fibromyalgia, and stirred up a right old cocktail of fibro fog in my head which left me mentally very incapacitated. You might say my creative mojo went walkabout for a long time, so I had to be patient until it returned. This morning I woke up feeling far more clear-headed, so I’m not going mad, just pottering with some art, and the above is Mo’s Mojo back at work, fired up for a bit of creative action!

I started up with a close-up photo (believe it or not) of some dried sage I keep in a neat little vase on my desk, it’s a very cleansing and protective plant spirit. I never quite know what I’m going to create, just that I got a nudge and a wink to work with the sage.

I fiddled around with various gizmos on Toolwiz, gradually growing the image until I got a plain version of the above, but felt it needed some magic within it. So I did a search for apps and found GlitterPhoto which is brilliant to use and added in all the sparkly bits.

Then I looked at it and wondered what the heck it represented!  Finally I remembered clear dream I had a while back where I was floating above the earth and looking at all the happenings below. I realised that, although it looked chaotic, there was in fact a sense of purposeful patterns below the seeming chaos. That’s what the above image represents – seeming chaos but magical change happening inexorably.

I believe we’re in a real upheaval here on this planet – a fundamental realignment where the interests of the very many are fighting their way to the surface, not just for humanity but for Mother Earth and all sentient creatures on board. We cannot leave our future to the billionaire class because it’s like Jabba the Hut, always looking to get more fat and bloated without any regard for the continued existence of this planet or future generations.

I think it’s exciting but only if we are co-creators – which means we have to get into action to create a future with a higher purpose. I’ve often looked at the battles which have gone on in the past when great upheaval has taken place – the advent of the industrial age, for example, and more currently technological change with the industrial age dying away. All too often, change has been accompanied by resistance, mainly because the employing class uses new technology to enrich itself and impoverish the very many.

But if we accept change is happening, if we step up to the plate, we can create a future which is quite different – where creativity is unleashed, where people stop being passive and become active, where technological advances are used for the whole of society not to be hogged by a super-wealthy minority. So I’m adding in John Lennon’s “Imagine” because I think it’s a brilliant composition and it is intertwined with the above image!
