I fiddled with this image for quite a while, creating an earlier piece of art which didn’t “feel” right. So I left it and when I returned, while I liked the background image, I didn’t like the graphics in the centre. I decided to turn to my trusty folio of flower photos, and came across this one of orange freesias which we planted in our garden in spring this year.  It reminds me of the passion each of us is born with in our hearts and life’s journey to recognise and release that passion, whatever it is. The dark flowers in the top left and bottom right corners are an acknowledgement of the challenges and sometimes dark places we visit as we work through life’s challenges and re-connect with our core inspirational values.

  1. It’s bright and uplifting. I can relate to the “didn’t ‘feel’ right.” I often set aside a story for long periods of time before it comes to me and feels right, sometimes when I’m not looking for the solution, it’s just it’s time, you know? Only an artist can relate. You hit the nail on the head.

    1. Thanks for your comment, Jim, you’re right – you know when you’ve got something right and when you haven’t. Just done another image today when I was tired and I know I’m going to revisit it or scrap it!
