The Moon, The Moon!

Harvest Moon

Years ago I read a great book by Dean Koontz called “Strangers” which I found incredibly uplifting, given that some of his horror books are so over-the-top they make my stomach churn. I remember reading one of his stories once while eating breakfast while my husband was working away from home and it was so horrific I had to stop reading it.

Anyway, “Strangers” is quite different, one to give you hope about the future. It’s about several people recovering lost memories and finding themselves drawn together. I won’t go into details so as not to spoil the story for those of you who might be interested in reading it. Suffice to say that people kept saying “The moon, the moon…..” and it relates to a giant step forward for the human race.

So last night I took more photos of the moon, not quite a full moon, but it was a beautiful orange light hovering in the sky rather than the pink moon at the Full Moon Eclipse. I got some good shots then ran around the house with my arms out like a plane and yelling “The moon….the moon…the moon”, much to the dogs’ amazement and more eye-rolling from my husband. I also reckoned that the Man in the Moon waved at me last night and gave me quite a cheerful wink once I’d finished my photos!

I was just going to upload shots of the moon but then decided it would be fun to create some digital art from one of the images, that’s what’s above: Orange Moon.

  1. I really like the Lumix camera I got when I left Australia. It has really sharp images. But I had a real job getting the photo of the moon circular – I’ve discovered that I don’t hold the camera as still as I think I am as the moon keeps moving around like a rocket shooting all over the place. Had to lean on the wall in the end to keep my hands still.
