I thought I’d post, for a change, a collage of photos I took of some statues in a vacant block which I saw on our drive into Kyrenia. The statues were standing around, as it were, when we arrived just over two years ago from Australia and they are still there, lurking, up to their knees in grass and weeds in the winter, but with freshly mown grass in Spring. I have no idea of their origins, neither does anyone else I’ve asked. So they stand there, chained to the trees or rocks, unmoving, from one season to another, patiently and blankly staring out at the world. And to be pretty truthful, they’re not the most beautiful of statues either!
