Good Morning, Starshine!

I was fiddling around this week just having a bit of fun and when I finalised this image, I was reminded of the ‘sixties musical “Hair”, with the song “Good Morning, Starshine”. Just to give my age away, I watched the original production of “Hair” in London.  I was quite a shy young woman and was mortified and embarrassed by men and women leaping around starkers on the stage.  Still, it looks mild to some of the productions these days! And even though it’s old stuff, I still love “Good Morning, Starshine” for its cheery, uplifting music and words.

And for your edification and delight, here are the lyrics from Good Morning, Starshine:

La da da da , da da da , da da da , da da da da da
da da da, da da da, da da dad a, da da da da da .

Good morning starshine
The earth says hello
You twinkle above us
We twinkle below

Good morning starshine
You lead us along
My love and me as we sing
Our early morning singing song

Gliddy gloop gloopy
Nibby nobby nooby
La la la lo lo
Sabba sibby sabba
Nooby abba dabba
Le le lo lo
dooby ooby walla
dooby abba dabba
Early morning singing song

Good mornin’ starshine
There’s love in your skies
reflecting the sunlight
in my lovers eyes

Good morning starshine
so happy to be
My love and me , as we sing
Our early morning singing song

Gliddy gloop gloopy
Nibby nobby nooby
La la la lo lo
Sabba sibby sabba
Nooby abba dabba
Le le lo lo
dooby ooby walla
dooby abba dabba
Early morning singing song

  1. Yes, I have always liked this song too, I was only a kid when Hair was playing so I never did see the play but I did hear about it 🙂

  2. I have the movie version of Hair. And I make sure I’m alone when I watch it, because it still embarrasses me if someone else is in the room. But that song will be forever in my memory. I love it. Love your picture also. It’s amazingly like looking at starshine.
