Leprechaun Hijinks (for St Patrick’s Day, what else?)

As it is St Patrick’s Day, I thought I’d create some digital art to honour the occasion. I started off with a deep green canvas in PicMonkey then superimposed a photo of a Snail Creeper we grew in our garden in Bowraville on the mid-north coast of New South Wales. This was a second try at growing a snail creeper – we did have one in Fremantle but it turned up its toes in no time at all.  Sadly, this was the one photo I got of our second snail creeper as it too shuffled off this mortal coil shortly afterwards.

I then superimposed a water feature from PicMonkey over the snail creeper photo, then switched to BeFunky to do some more fiddling. It was supposed to be a lot greener, but it all changed along the way from what I had in mind. I finally decided that it reminded me of leprechauns indulging in hijinks, hence the title of this piece of digital art.

Happy St Patrick’s Day!
