Transformation

This digital art is quite a contrast to the previous one, but it just seemed to fall into place. The base photo was of a photo of South-West Rocks, close to Kempsey, on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, Australia.  I fiddled quite a bit with this image but wasn’t quite satisfied with it so left it for a few hours then went back and fiddled with PicMonkey’s gizmos until it seemed almost done. Then I superimposed a photo of a sunset which really fitted the overall idea of Transformation and finished off with a firework in the centre as all black looked a bit out of place.  I know when I’ve finished a piece of digital art because it just looks as if it’s all slotted into place.  This card reminds me of the Tarot card: The Tower, which is all about you and your world undergoing great transformation and upheaval, with Divinity giving you a  kick up the backside to get you into gear.

  1. This is very Tower-y. The red and black building-like crosshatching at the center top and the power lines suggests the man-made and the chrysanthemum firework is the destructive catalyst. The foliage at the left seems to symbolize that Mother Nature is both the victim of man’s aggression and his hope. The Haindl deck’s Tower has that same hint of hope – one reason I like that deck.

  2. Thanks, Ann and Meredith, for your perceptive comments. I’m always amazed at how images somehow talk to you with their own inner wisdom about what they represent. And yes, I know the Haindl deck, the image of The Tower is extraordinar.
